What are the work steps for timing belt replacement?
1. Remove the multi-rib belt — the tensioner can be turned with a wrench. Draw the belt routing on paper. 2. Remove the expansion tank by lifting it upward, disconnect the fluid level sensor wire from the bottom. 3. The multi-rib belt tensioner can be removed for additional space (2 x 12 mm bolts). 4. Lock the hydraulic tensioner with a nail or pop rivet. 5. Mark the camshaft pulley positions with a marker. 6. Remove the old belt and install the new one. Check the tensioner and guide rollers at the same time. 7. Release the tensioner by removing the locking nail with pliers.
Do engine covers need to be removed for belt replacement?
