850/V70 Service Light Reset and Fault Code List

VDO instrument cluster: reset by pressing a button on the cluster. Yazaki instrument cluster (850 1994–1995): reset button is located on the left side of the cluster center.

1. Turn ignition key 5 times: OFF→ON→OFF→ON→OFF→ON→OFF→ON→OFF→ON. Leave key in ON position (position II, don't start engine). 2. Within 5 seconds, push one of the diagnostic connector pins into the desired connector hole. 3. Short press of the button—the first code appears as LED flashing. 4. Code 1-1-1 = all OK. Otherwise press again until the code repeats. 5. Reset: hold button down for 6 seconds, release, wait for LED to come on, hold again for 6 seconds. Note: only works up to model year '95.
