How do you start rear brake repair?
Start from the parking brake lever: recline rear seats, pull parking brake up, shift into neutral. Remove side panels, center console (4 bolts) and parking brake lever plastic cover. Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut 5–10 turns.
How are rear brake pads and rotor replaced?
1. Remove wheel. 2. Remove wheel retention pin (10 mm). 3. Open caliper bolts + remove spring. 4. Push brake cylinder pistons to the furthest position. 5. Replace brake pads and/or rotor. 6. Check brake fluid level — it may overflow when you push the pistons back. Remove excess fluid with a syringe.
Does the guide also apply to XC90 models?
XC90 has a different parking brake actuation mechanism, but the brake components themselves work the same way as in the guide.
