850 heater core replacement

1. Remove floor mat and lower plastic trim above the pedals. 2. Remove black plastic covers on both sides. 3. Remove 2 screws from the sides and 1 screw from below between the core pipes. 4. Gently pull the core down/away — tight space but comes out without force. 5. The core removal and installation happens from the passenger side. 6. Put plenty of rags on the floor — liquid will come out!

If there's a metal box between the center console and core (Dolby Prologic), it blocks core removal. It's only found in the best audio package cars. You can remove it from the front without other operations.

Check where the old core's seal was and tape the new one in the same spot. Also check the O-rings on the pipe ends. Reassemble in reverse order.
