V60 rear door lock module repair
How does the V60 rear door lock problem manifest?
The rear door locks begin to stick so that the locks do not always close properly. Opening works, but locking does not. The problem is initially random and gets worse over time.
How is the rear door lock module replaced?
1. Remove the rear door interior panel. 2. Remove the exterior door handle. 3. Remove the rear window: open the window about 2/3, find the yellow-marked plug and press the lock pin with a screwdriver. Raise the window by hand and tape to upper position. 4. Remove the outer handle frame bolt from the exterior panel. 5. Remove the 3 lock frame bolts. 6. Remove the door inner frame mounting bolts and wiggle the inner frame out. 7. Remove the inner pull handle cable, lock module electrical connector and outer handle cable. 8. The lock module is attached to the inner frame at two points with tabs — press the tabs to release.
What makes assembly easier?
During disassembly, remove one interior trim clip that snaps into the inner frame. This clip makes inner frame removal difficult, and its removal significantly eases reassembly.
