V70/S60/S80/XC90 fuel door repair

Typically, the spring clip tabs crack from the plastic hinge — the door itself rarely comes loose. The hinge is attached to the body with four plastic snap clips.

1. Order a new hinge (from Motone less than 10 €, from Volvo dealer about 13 €). 2. Tap out the old hinge's four plastic pins (about 1.5 mm thick) through the panel — the hinge comes off. 3. Install the new hinge in place. If the metal spring has come loose from the door, press the spring ends back into the grooves in the door.
