How is cruise control installed with mechanical throttle control (1997–1999)?
Applies to: 1997–1998 all engines, 1997–1999 10v engines. Installation: Vacuum hose from pump to driver footwell (pass-through at the hood cable location) Cruise relay under the hood in the fuse box Valves/switches on the brake and clutch pedals in pre-made locations Second pump on the accelerator pedal (in the footwell blower outlet slot) Vacuum hoses with a T-connector Stalk switches around the steering wheel rim (wheel trim panel removable)
How is cruise control installed with electronic throttle control (1999–2000)?
Applies to: 1999–2000 all gasoline engines (except 10v). Installation is simpler: 1. Install stalk switches. 2. Volvo programs the feature on. Programming costs around €250. These instructions do not apply to TDI models.
