Front wheel bearing change S60/V70

S60V70

How is the S60/V70 front wheel bearing changed?

1. Lift the entire front end on jack stands (the sway bar will twist otherwise). 2. Remove the wheel, remove the hub bolt (have someone press the brake pedal or use a bolt gun). 3. Remove the brake caliper, brake rotor, tie rod end. 4. Remove the ABS sensor (above the brake backplate). 5. Remove the control arm from the top and strut bolts at the bottom. Mark the strut position (camber angles). 6. Hang the axle shaft with a rope. 7. Remove the 4 bolts from the wheel bearing and set aside the dust cover. 8. Strike the bearing with a hammer from the rear to remove it.

What does the spare parts kit include?

Volvo original kit: bearing, new bolts, dust cover, and grease. Aftermarket kit: bearing only — bolts and dust cover must be purchased separately.
