D24xxx timing check and pump advance adjustment

This guide is intended for home use without stopwatch accuracy. However, the method is practically effective — after adjustment, vehicle operation has improved and fuel consumption has decreased.

Advance values according to the Alfameri 700 series repair manual: D24 (until 1986): 0.70 mm (check value: 0.65–0.73 mm) D24 (from 1987 onwards): 0.80 mm (check value: 0.77–0.85 mm) D24T and D24TIC: 0.90 mm (check value: 0.87–0.95 mm)

Some enthusiasts use a slightly higher value, for example 1.00 mm on a D24 engine. This can improve engine behavior and reduce fuel consumption — for example, achieving less than 6 l/100 km on the highway is possible.
